Film Noir Edition, the capsule of Persol

The links between Persol and the 7th art never cease to strengthen! Spotlight on the cult genre of the 1950s, film noir, to which Persol wished to pay tribute through a capsule collection called Film Noir Edition.

It is in the heart of the Ambrosiana Library, in Milan, that the eyewear brand Persol celebrated last February its new capsule collection: Film Noir. A true tribute to the most influential cinematographic genre of the 1950s, this line also celebrates the brand’s style heritage, bringing the famous Phoenix arrow back to the fore. “Meticulous research in the Persol archives revealed that the traditional Persol arrow at the time had several variations, including the Phoenix arrow.
Through the image of the phoenix, art is seen as the ability to constantly reinvent itself, which is why Persol chose it as a key element in reinterpreting its own style heritage. ” The result: two solar models and two lenses – with names evocative of Gangster, Femme Fatale, Reporter and even Detective – reinterpret this now legendary arrow on a modernized design. All in an atmosphere of mystery and intrigue … Note: the sunglasses are fitted with Polar or Photo-Polar lenses, in a solid or gradient colour.
